52 weeks to 52 , week 3

Wow I nearly forgot this weeks update, the weeks come round so quick! I am sure at some point I will forget a week or won’t be able to post, but I have made it to week 3.

The June challenge for Dementia UK has ended, but as a group we have decided to keep in touch and still share what we are crafting. I am still trying to do a little each day, though it’s not always possible. As a group £20,400 was raised for Dementia UK, my contribution from sales and donations was £58 although I bought quite a few things off other members so feel I did my bit. There are some very creative people out there.

On Thursday evening we went to a candlelight concert a string quartet playing music from Queen. I was struggling before we went and the seating was very uncomfortable so sadly not an enjoyable experience, but I did it!

During the first covid lockdown I made this stitched and framed poem, sadly the pictures had begun to fade so I made it into another framed item with shapes cut on my Cricut Joy.

All I need to do now is find a space on the wall, as I replace the original one with my Diamond painting which I finished for the end of the June craft challenge. It was a Christmas present

I have continued to play with the Cricut, but do find it very frustrating at times. I created the cuts below and was asked to make cards from some of them and 4 other cards to go with them.

The others are still waiting to be used.

I finished another piece of the knitting project and blocked it ready to sew up and pick up bands, I keep putting that bit off as it’s not my strong point.

On Tuesday I collected my glasses, they are varifocals and are going to take some getting used to and I found wearing them extremely tiring, fingers crossed I can get used to them, it will make things much easier. As ever I am impatient and want to be able to use them all the time now.

The hedgehog charity gave me a load of keyring blanks to make up for them, so far I have just made simple ones with their logo on onside and address on the other.

I’d love to be able to do something more exciting, but it would require a lot of time and energy. It would be possible to do stitched or cross stitched ones if I do have some more time.

I am hoping to get a few more knitted ribbons done for YBTC before they need them to sell from mid August, they are to mark Children’s Cancer awareness month in September

They will also be available to buy from me and I will donate to YBTC for any I sell.
