New Year, New Beginnings

he Outlawz Sunday Song and Rhyme challenge is based on the poem New Beginnings by Christopher Westra.

I personally struggle with New Year and New Beginnings and always find this time of year very hard. Although the messages in the poem about pushing aside past mistakes, clearing priorities and treating each day as a new day and a new start is something I would like to be able to do. I dwell on the past and regret so many things and this has an big impact on my mental and physical help. I always feel that I should try harder to create a new me and forget the past, but always come up against my limitations from my ME and hearing loss.

I do feel I did not do this poem justice, but my first thought was New baby, New beginnings. I found the words “Every new Baby is a New Beginning” on Cricut Design space. I chose to write the letters with the Cricut and cut the little feet and heart. I mounted this on baby themed backing card and bright pink glitter card.

I chose to make the card in pink as that was what appealed to me, it could easily have been created in blue. I did wonder with current trends for gender neutrality if I should have created it in neutral colours.
