All things bright and beautiful

Normally for Sunday Song and Rhyme challenge I make a card to fit the song or rhyme, but when this one came up I had just made card that fitted perfectly.

It fit so perfectly with the second verse. The words were written in 1848 by Cecil Frances Alexander and the familiar tune written in 1887 by William Henry Monk. The original words are actually different to the modern hymn that most of us are familiar with;


All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings.

All things bright …

The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
God made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.

All things bright …


The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning,
That brightens up the sky.

All things bright …

The pleasant summer sun,

The image is cut on my Cricut Joy extra using a design by Digital Gems. Actually I have just realised it is probably supposed to be an anniversary card, but I just thought it was sweet for a lady who like flowers and animals. I added the gems and a bow to highlight those elements and the bow is actually covering a wonky bit in the corner!!

This the final challenge for this year, the next one starts on January 5th. The year has flown by and as usual I didn’t get anywhere near as much crafting done as I would like. Lets see what next year brings!
