The April Tuesday colour challenge at Outlawz is based on this gorgeous bright palette

I thought they would be beautiful colours for flowers and with the challenge starting just after Mother’s Day (in UK) I chose a Mother’s Day design.
I have just got a new Cricut Explore 4 so wanted to try something a bit different. I found a site selling SVG cut files Lightman Goodman. It has some great designs and many a bit different to what I have seen before. With the BOGOF prices were very reasonable. I chose a paper light box file Mother’s Day bouquet.
Having got a new machine and cutting a new type of creation, well lets just say it was not straightforward!! Once I was used to pressures needed for cutting and how to layer the design finally got it right. Several pieces had to be recut and my assembly didn’t work first time, but it was worth it in the end. Next challenge was getting a photo. Because the design stands up it was awkward to take photo, and then the phots didn’t do justice to the colours. Anyway this is what I ended up with;

There are 11 layers and the design makes into a box, bottle light are inserted and the design lights up, but I didn’t manage to get a photo of it lit up and is is not that bright. The layer are cut in basic cardstock it may have been better if the white card of the box structure were a bit thicker and maybe a vellum or acetate for the middle to allow for the light through more. The front blue piece is cut in glitter card. The colours are brighter than photo shows.
I stuck a greeting on the back to gift it like a card. I had to wrap it in tissue paper because of the 3d design.
I will definitely try some more of the designs. I also purchased a couple of Easter designs.
